About the Team & Position
- Lunit, a portmanteau of 'Learning unit,' is a medical AI software company devoted to providing AI-powered total cancer care. - We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Program Management Office(PMO) Team at Lunit Oncology. The PMO Team leads with clarity, purpose, and accountability. We work across functions and capabilities within the Oncology group to drive alignment, build momentum, and enable cross-functional collaboration. We manage projects and programs with care and intention-ensuring that every deliverable is meaningful, timely, and aligned with broader organizational goals.
- The ideal candidate will drive the execution of complex, oncology-focused projects from post-contract/approval through delivery-ensuring cross-functional alignment, operational excellence, and high-quality outcomes across biopharma partnerships, industry collaborations, and internal initiatives.
- This role requires a strong sense of ownership, a servant leadership mindset, and the ability to drive execution while facilitating collaboration across teams such as Business Development, AI Research, Medical Affairs, and Product Development. Roles & Responsibilities
- Project Execution & Delivery
- Drive the end-to-end execution and delivery of diverse programs and projects across the oncology group, including biopharma partnerships, industry collaborations, and Lunit's fully-owned initiatives.
- Lead projects from post-contract/approval through delivery, managing all executional and operational components such as data receipt, resource and timeline coordination, deliverable preparation, and final output.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedules, resources, dependencies, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure effective execution and visibility.
- Coordinate with Business Development-within execution scope-to interface with external stakeholders for project-related communication, such as milestone reporting, data transfer, and deliverable handoff.
- Execution Strategy & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Develop and drive execution-focused strategies that enable successful delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and agile priorities.
- Orchestrate prioritization and resource alignment across concurrent initiatives by coordinating across teams to maintain momentum and strategic clarity.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration through servant leadership-coordinating communication, clarifying objectives, and enabling shared accountability across departments such as Business Development, AI Research, Medical Affairs, and Product Development.
- Drive transparent communication and progress visibility, including status updates, milestone tracking, and cross-functional alignment throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate RFI and RFP responses in close collaboration with Business Development and internal function teams, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required information.
- Process Optimization & Innovation
- Continuously improve internal workflows, tools, and systems to enhance operational efficiency and support repeatable, scalable execution.
- Establish and evolve project management processes and governance structures that enable sustainable delivery and visibility across teams.
- Identify and resolve recurring workflow bottlenecks by implementing practical improvements, including simple automations and fit-for-purpose tools that support project execution.
- Risk Management & Quality Assurance
- Monitor ongoing projects to proactively identify and mitigate risks, supporting stable execution and minimizing delivery disruptions.
- Facilitate issue resolution by coordinating mitigation efforts and contingency plans when risks materialize.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal quality standards, and documentation practices to maintain program integrity and compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional projects across multiple departments, functions, or organizations
OR 5+ years of project management experience within a single domain (e.g., research, engineering, operations) - Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects in regulated environments
- Ability to work at Lunit's HQ office based in Seoul
- Experience working with global teams and stakeholders across cross-cultural and international settings
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in both English and Korean (written and verbal)
- Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with ability to adapt approaches based on project needs
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite, with openness to new approaches and ways of working
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities
Preferred Experiences
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in relevant field (life sciences, engineering)
- PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification
- Knowledge of medical imaging, AI/ML applications in healthcare, and digital pathology
- Experience improving operational workflows through process automation, tooling, or lean methodologies
- Experience in oncology research, clinical trials, or cancer care delivery, with familiarity in clinical development processes and regulatory pathways
- Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA QSR) and international regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, EMA, PMDA)
