Job Description MES (Syncade) Application Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled MES Syncade Application Developer to design, develop, and maintain custom solutions within Emersons Syncade Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The role involves creating and enhancing Syncade workflows, custom stored procedures, reports, and integration components to support manufacturing operations in regulated industries (Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Food & Beverage).

Key Responsibilities

• Custom Development
• Design, develop, and maintain custom stored procedures, functions, and SQL code to extend Syncade functionality.
• Design, develop and maintain MES syncade behaviors, custom transaction scripts
• Configure and customize Syncade workflows, activities, and forms to meet site-specific manufacturing needs.
• Develop custom reports and data extracts using SSRS/Power BI/Crystal Reports (depending on site).
• Build and support custom APIs or interface components to integrate Syncade with ERP, LIMS, PAS-X, or automation systems (DeltaV, SAP, etc.).
• System Configuration & Enhancement
• Collaborate with MES engineers to design scalable, validated Syncade customizations.
• Participate in MBR (Master Batch Record) and EBR (Electronic Batch Record) customization and optimization.
• Ensure all development adheres to GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and site validation requirements.
• Testing & Validation
• Develop and execute unit tests and integration tests for custom solutions.
• Support IQ/OQ/PQ activities, including preparation of validation documentation.
• Assist QA/CSV teams in ensuring compliance with FDA and EMA regulations.
• Support & Troubleshooting
• Provide technical support for Syncade custom solutions in production environments.
• Troubleshoot database, performance, and interface issues.
• Develop tools and scripts to improve system performance and maintainability.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience developing within Syncade MES or similar MES platforms (Werum PAS-X, Rockwell PharmaSuite, etc.).
• Strong hands-on skills in:
• SQL Server (T-SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers)
• C# / .NET or VB.NET for custom service development
• XML, XSLT, Web Services, APIs
• Experience customizing Syncade workflows, activities, and EBRs.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), GAMP5, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
