At L&H Solutions, we build and commercialize cloud-native (Azure-based) SaaS/PaaS solutions for Swiss Re Life & Health insurance clients. We offer a portfolio of over six products, including established offerings like Magnum with over 60 active clients worldwide, and innovative products such as UW Ease. We are a SW house within Swiss Re.

Our team consists of more than 150 technical professionals with multidisciplinary skills, located in multiple countries, working on these multi-regional, highly available solutions.

About the Role

As the Front-End Development Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing intuitive, responsive, and high-performance user interfaces for our web applications. You will lead a team of front-end developers, collaborate closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, and back-end engineers, and ensure the delivery of scalable and maintainable front-end solutions aligned with our product vision and roadmap.

You will be expected to bring deep technical expertise in Angular, JavaScript, and modern CSS techniques, while also mentoring your team and promoting best practices in front-end architecture and agile development.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Lead the design and development of front-end architecture using Angular and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality code using HTML, CSS (including Flexbox), and Bootstrap.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Work in Agile teams, participate in sprint planning, and contribute to estimation and delivery planning.
• Stay up to date with emerging front-end technologies and propose adoption where appropriate.
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and work closely with back-end teams to ensure seamless data flow.

• Overall 10+ years of experience in front-end software design and development, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (latest versions) and advanced JavaScript (ES6+).

  • Strong expertise in HTML5, CSS3, Flexbox, and Bootstrap for responsive UI development.
  • Proven experience in unit testing using Jest and end-to-end automation testing using Cypress.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Proficiency in RESTful API integration and front-end performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of component-based architecture, state management, and modular design.
  • Familiarity with design patterns relevant to front-end development.
  • Ability to lead code reviews, mentor team members, and enforce front-end best practices.
  • Experience using modern development environments such as Visual Studio Code.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to document and explain front-end architecture and design decisions.

• Preferable knowledge also about...Familiarity with Ag-Grid and D3.js for data-intensive and visual applications.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Azure DevOps.
• Understanding of containerization and deployment using Docker.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) from a front-end integration perspective.
• Knowledge of security best practices in front-end development (e.g., XSS, CSRF prevention).

• Excellent Communication Skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with the team and collaborators.
• Proactive and Collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and a willingness to go the extra mile to deliver quality solutions.
