Overview:
Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Amazon EC2 and Amazon RDS Custom. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native solutions that leverage AWS compute and database services to meet business requirements for scalability, security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder) status, as well as the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (T4/6C-HighRisk Public Trust).
What Youll do:
- End-to-end migration of On-Prem infrastructure and applications to AWS Cloud.
- Configure and manage EC2 and RDS Custom instances, networking (VPC, subnets, security groups), and load balancing.
- Deploy and tune EC2 and RDS Custom instances for specialized database
- backup/recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for EC2 and RDS Custom.
- Work with Infrastructure, developers, DBAs, and DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) for EC2 and RDS Custom deployments.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to stakeholders, providing consultation on cloud adoption strategies, workload modernization, and emerging AWS services.
- Deliver technical documentation, diagrams, and knowledge transfer sessions.
- Provide guidance on security processes and procedures to comply with NIST, ISO, CIS, CMM and FedRAMP standards in AWS-Cloud, and On-Prem to meet the customer SLA for Disaster recovery.
Required knowledge and skills
- Over 10-12 years in IT, specifically, in designing, implementing and supporting technical infrastructure, architecture with a minimum of 3 years of experience working in cloud environment.
- Proven experience architecting and deploying solutions on AWS, with emphasis on EC2 and RDS Custom.
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Windows server administration, networking, and security in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with databases (Oracle) and customizations supported by EC2 and/or RDS Custom.
- On-Hands experience with large-scale cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation programs, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with enterprise strategy.
Abilities
- Ability to work with cross functionality teams.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- On hands experience with security hardening.
